New Award – Bell Gairdner Estate
Heritage Mississauga Award of Excellence
ATA Architects recently received the 2013 Cultural Heritage Property Award of Excellence in the category of Adaptive Reuse from Heritage Mississauga for its work on the Bell Gairdner Estate. The award is a recognition of excellence in the preservation and enhancement of a cultural heritage property. Originally constructed in 1937 the sprawling site stretches South from Lakeshore Road in Mississauga, down to the mouth of Joshua Creek and the Lake Ontario shoreline. ATA converted the site into a multifunctional indoor and outdoor wedding space/public park over a 2-year period.
