Centrally located in the Downtown Oakville Heritage District, this storefront building is a simple frame structure with little historical significance. That said, it is representative of the early fabric of Lakeshore Road. The building had been substantially altered over the years, including a large addition. Originally, the street level entrance to this three-story structure was a few steps up from the sidewalk. In order to achieve proper access, ATA lowered the building through a new support structure without increasing the load on the existing cobblestone walls. The result was that the mid section of the floor was gently sloped to achieve the required access.

The original recessed entrance was retained while a new glazed storefront was added that uses the full height of the ground floor storefront. The nightmarish patchwork of electrical and mechanical systems that was added over the years, was replaced with code compliant mechanical and electrical systems.
